I've spent the past few weeks rewatching Star Trek Voyager all seven seasons. Wow. Great show. Janeway was a tough aggressive Captain. The Delta Quadrant was a scary dark place. I think I enjoyed this show more than TNG because it wasn't so high brow and holier then thou. This crew made mistakes. The bent rules as far they can go. They crossed the line and had to come back.
The problem came on getting the home. The Lt. Barclay episodes were tough to swallow. Bringing him back once works. Twice is okay. But multiple times... Should have just found a way to transwarp his ass to the ship.
They introduced the temporal directive and had a lot of 20th century pop culture episodes. One episode had Sarah Silverman in 1998 LA and it reminded me of the Save the Whales Star Trek movie both in a good and bad way.
Anyway Voyager was good. It is worth a rewatch.
