My dad used the word zugzwang alot. It was always when we were playing chess. He'd look at the board and pronounce, "Zugzwang! Zugzwang!" I guess that was his way of shit talking. Zugzwang means putting oneself into a situation with limited moves that damages a player. Inevitably I would be caught in some chess action where I'd lose a rook or my queen and my dad would laugh mercilessly.
Zugzwang, it's a great word!
