Ice cream is a great treat but it pales in comparrison to great soft serve covered in chocolate sprinkles.
Ice cream comes in a million flavors and it comes all spruced up because it has no soul. Ice cream inherently does not understand how to satisfy basic cold treat cravings. The worst offender is cold stone creamery. They gimmick up their ice cream and they lull you with their siren singing to make you believe their ice cream is incredible. Ben and jerry's yucks it up with their crafty names and overly fattening ice cream but it still has no soul. 31 flavors, should be 31 variations of pink bubble gum. Their ice cream is weak.
Now, good soft serve expertly built to be 8 inches high coverd in sprinkles, shows man's ability to dominate dairy. It shows us what we can achieve and what we shold expect from vendors. It is a structure deicated to our sweet tooth. Think about the physics, crap the metaphysics behind a dipped soft serve. You serve up an eight inch swirl, you invert it, dunk it, pull it out and it is covered in chocolate goodness. Wow, craftsmanship, elegeance...proof of God's exsistence.

No way. Good ice cream beats soft serve no matter what. You can do so much more with ice cream than soft serve. Sundaes for one. Also, the only soft serve flavor normally found that is always good is chocolate. Vanilla soft serve is hit or miss.
I must admit though. Chocolate with chocolate sprinkles is pretty good.
