Party Switchers

We lost a moderate to the Republicans this week.

Party switching happens when there is a tide of change coming.  Those elected either switch to stay in office or are disillusioned by the direction of the party.  Healthcare has battered Democrats from the left and the right but what I fear the most are litmus tests.  Both parties are moving in this direction.  We are moving away from a Representative Democracy towards rule by litmus test.  It's the end of free will.  The end of electing people who will lead and do what they think is right.  These litmus tests will push out thoughtful candidates in favor of strict party loyalists.

When this happens is when bureaucrats take over.
